Trademark Tonic Director, Kirsty Brummell, qualified as a Chartered UK Trade Mark Attorney in 2012, receiving the Adrian Spencer Memorial Award in the same year for attaining the highest mark in the Advanced UK Trade Mark Law and Practice paper.

Prior to setting up Trademark Tonic, Kirsty worked in-house for over 6 years at a FTSE 100 company (FMCG sector) managing global trade mark and design portfolios, gaining invaluable insight and experience in the commercial aspects of a business with numerous brands and designs.

Before working in-house, Kirsty trained in private practice in London and other locations in the UK, dealing with various trade mark portfolios (science & technology, fashion, sports, and entertainment to name a few) and clients including startups, SMEs, creatives and multi-national businesses. This wide variety of experience in diverse fields and with varied clients has fine-tuned her trade mark expertise.

Kirsty's educational qualifications include an LL.M. in Commercial Intellectual Property with Distinction (Nottingham Trent University), a Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law (Manchester University), a Ph.D. (Sheffield University), M.Sc. (Nottingham University) and B.Sc. (Birmingham University) in the area of Microbiology/Biological Sciences.

Kirsty is a member of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA) and is regulated by the Intellectual Property Regulation Board (IPReg).
