Day 3 of the Blue Earth Summit last week, we visited Harold's Park Wildland in Essex, one of Nattergal Ltd's amazing rewilding/nature restoration projects.

Very inspiring to see this site and the vision of the Nattergal team - their aim is the rewilding/restoration of a degraded 206 hectare site to enhance biodiversity and improve carbon sequestration, water quality and soil function (as well as supporting local communities and enhancing green economies!) 🌎🌱

Brilliant to see the pockets of wild elements on the site, such as some ancient woodland, ponds and unkept hedges, which will help to kick-start the rewilding/restoration process for the rest of the site.

Also really interesting history of the land/site dating back to the 11th Century, with Harold II using the grounds for hunting deer and wild boar, before eventually becoming arable farmland.

Thanks so much to the Nattergal team who were so welcoming and knowledgeable and also to the Blue Earth Summit team! 🌎⭐💡
